Assam: Dirok Field Achieves Milestone with Successful Reservoir Test

Guwahati, 20th July: In a significant development for India’s Oil & Gas sector, the Dirok Field in Tinsukia district has reached a major milestone. Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri announced on X that the field has successfully tested a new reservoir, Sand-9, in well Dirok-1.

Located in the ON-94/1 block at Margarita, the Dirok Field is operated by HOEC in partnership with OIL and IOCL. The well has demonstrated a flow rate of 6 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. The successful test reflects the sector’s commitment to discovering and optimizing new resources in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.

Further production testing is ongoing to verify and possibly extend the field’s proven reserves, based on these promising early results.
