Guwahati: In a late-night incident near Rajdhani Masjid on Sunday, December 22, a Dispur Traffic Police vehicle (registration number AS01EM7981) was allegedly involved in a collision with a Maruti Suzuki car (registration number AS01BS5687).
The victim, identified as Asadul Hussain, has accused the driver of the police vehicle of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Mr. Hussain alleges that despite his claims, the Dispur Police are attempting to shield the intoxicated driver from facing disciplinary action.
These allegations have sparked public outrage, with citizens demanding a transparent and impartial investigation into the matter. The incident has further fueled concerns regarding accountability and responsible conduct within the city’s law enforcement agencies.
As of now, city police have declined to comment on the specific allegations, stating that investigations are currently underway to ascertain the facts surrounding the crash.
