Cachar – A crucial meeting of the District Level Committee was convened at the office of the Deputy Commissioner in Cachar on Saturday, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mridul Yadav.

The primary objective of the session was to assess the ongoing progress of the Model Anganwadi Centres (MAWCs) being developed across the district, part of various developmental initiatives including NIDA, RIDF, and SCBC.

The meeting saw participation from key officials, including Dr. Khaleda Ahmed, the Additional District Commissioner for Women and Child Development, as well as Anjali Kumari, the District Social Welfare Officer. Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) and Chairpersons and Member Secretaries of Anganwadi Level Construction Committees (ALCCs) were also in attendance, ensuring a comprehensive review of the situation.

Deputy Commissioner Yadav provided an in-depth overview of the construction status of MAWCs, evaluating each legislative assembly constituency and individual Anganwadi centres.

He identified the challenges faced by the ALCCs and put forth effective strategies to overcome these obstacles. To accelerate progress, he directed the immediate release of funds for centres that had completed their documentation and showcased visible construction advancements.

Emphasizing the significance of addressing land acquisition hurdles, DC Yadav urged for a swift process in obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the relevant authorities to avoid project delays. He also stressed the importance of community involvement, encouraging CDPOs and ALCCs to engage local residents in the construction process, facilitating smoother execution and fostering a sense of ownership among the community.

“Effective coordination between departments is crucial for the timely completion of these critical infrastructure projects,” DC Yadav stated. “These Model Anganwadi Centres will significantly enhance child development facilities in the district, and we must ensure their successful and prompt completion.”

The meeting underscored the district administration’s unwavering commitment to advancing child welfare and development services in Cachar through the establishment of these model centres, which are expected to have a profound impact on the community’s future.
