Assam: Driver Assaulted at Doboka Toll Gate; Police Arrest Toll Workers, Manhunt Underway for Other Suspects

Guwahati, 3rd June: The Doboka community was left reeling in shock after a driver named Rahim Uddin was brutally assaulted at the Doboka toll gate by a group of individuals associated with the toll staff and marriage passengers.

The incident took a grim turn before some marriage passengers intervened to rescue Uddin from the attackers.

Swift action by the Doboka police led to the apprehension of toll workers Rohan Nayak, Mahendra, and Yahya Alam around midnight. They now face charges of assaulting Uddin. However, the hunt continues for several other suspects, including Montu Kumar and Rajav Ali.

Eyewitnesses recounted that the altercation ignited when Uddin approached the toll gate, sparking a heated argument that quickly spiraled into a violent confrontation. Shockingly, toll staff and bystanders reportedly joined in the assault on Uddin.

Authorities are currently conducting an exhaustive investigation to track down the remaining suspects and bring them to justice.

The police have issued a public appeal, urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Montu Kumar, Rajav Ali, and others involved in the assault to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation
