Assam: Drug peddler arrested with heroin in Dhubri

Guwahati, 26th April: In a proactive operation, the College Town Outpost unit under Dhubri Police successfully recovered a significant quantity of suspected heroin from a drug peddler’s shop in the Jhagrarpar area of Dhubri.

Led by Sub-Inspector Kapil Chandra Das, the police unit conducted a raid at Ruhul Amin Prodhani’s shop after receiving a tip-off. The raid resulted in the seizure of 28.92 grams of heroin concealed in two soap boxes, along with 50 small containers containing 56.10 grams of suspected heroin.

The accused, Ruhul Amin Prodhani, hailing from village Jhagrarpar Pt-l, Bachjani area, was apprehended in connection with the illegal drug trade.

The recovery of the illegal substances raises concerns about the trafficking of narcotics in the Dhubri town area, prompting authorities to intensify efforts to combat such illicit activities.

This successful operation marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to eradicate the illegal drug trade, which poses a threat to communities and public safety.

An investigation into the matter is underway, as law enforcement authorities continue their efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks.
