Assam DSP Transferred Amidst Serious Allegations
Guwahati: Assam Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kusha Chandra Dewri, previously responsible for Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s security, has been transferred from his post. This decision follows serious allegations leveled against him, as confirmed by official sources on Wednesday.
The Home Department of the Assam Government issued an order, effectively transferring DSP Dewri to the 26th AP Bn in Chamrasali, Mankachar, South Salmara, with immediate effect.
Reports indicate that a woman has accused DSP Dewri of deception, claiming he exploited a romantic relationship under the pretense of marriage. She alleges that he engaged in a physical relationship with her and subsequently betrayed her trust.
Following a formal complaint lodged at Dispur Police Station, an investigation into the matter has been initiated.
Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted if deemed necessary.
The appointment of a replacement for DSP Dewri is expected soon to ensure the continued security of the Chief Minister.
