Assam: Education Coordinator Busted in Major Drug Ring
Karimganj, Assam: In a shocking revelation, the Karimganj police have arrested a senior education coordinator for allegedly running a massive drug trafficking operation in the district.
Sumeru Nath, who held a prominent position as the Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan program, was identified as the kingpin of the operation following a substantial drug seizure in Badarpur on November 6th.
Superintendent of Police Partha Pratim Das, who spearheaded the investigation, initially apprehended four drug traffickers. During their interrogation, it was uncovered that Nath was the mastermind behind the illicit drug trade.
Law enforcement sources indicate that Nath had been involved in drug trafficking for a considerable period, all while maintaining his position within the education department. His arrest raises serious concerns about the potential infiltration of organized crime into educational institutions in the region.
