Assam Education Minister Distributes Appointment Letters to Newly Recruited Assistant Professors

Guwahati: Assam’s Education Minister Ranoj Pegu has handed over appointment letters to newly recruited Assistant Professors in State Engineering colleges, reinforcing the government’s commitment to strengthening higher education in the state.

Speaking at the event, Minister Pegu highlighted Assam’s achievement in surpassing its 1 lakh government job commitment, a key promise of the state government. “The Assam government has already crossed its commitment of giving 1 lakh jobs. Now, we have completed 1,15,000 jobs, and we have already recruited people. Today, under the Higher Education Department, we have distributed appointment letters to Assistant Professors of State Engineering colleges,” he stated.

The recruitment drive is aimed at enhancing academic institutions with qualified faculty, improving technical education, and producing industry-ready graduates. The initiative is part of a larger vision to boost educational infrastructure, ensuring that students receive quality education aligned with evolving industry demands.

Under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s leadership, the Assam government’s employment drive has focused on creating job opportunities across various departments. The latest appointments reaffirm the government’s commitment to education and employment generation, paving the way for a stronger higher education ecosystem in the state.
