Assam Education Minister Lauds AHSEC for Timely Declaration of HS Exam Results
Guwahati, 9th May: Assam’s Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, has applauded the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) for its prompt action in announcing the results of the Higher Secondary (HS) final examination 2024. Minister Pegu commended AHSEC’s proactive approach, emphasizing the significance of timely result announcements in aiding students’ career planning.
In a media address, Minister Pegu expressed appreciation for AHSEC’s early declaration of results compared to previous years, lauding it as a commendable step towards assisting students in charting their educational paths. He highlighted the positive outcomes of this year’s HS results, with an impressive 88.64% of students achieving good marks, showcasing the efficacy of Assam’s education system.
A noteworthy aspect of this year’s examination process was the adoption of CBSE rules by the examination committee, which omitted the declaration of ranks or positions, prioritizing the examination and result declaration’s fairness and transparency.
Minister Pegu also announced the merger of the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) and AHSEC, aiming to create a unified board for both HSLC and HS students. While awaiting implementation due to the prevailing model code of conduct, this move signifies a strategic step towards enhancing the efficiency and coherence of the state’s education framework.
