Assam: Education Dept Official Held for Accepting Bribe in Dhubri
Guwahati: A state government employee of the education department has been arrested by the team of Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption cell for allegedly accepting bribe on Thursday.
The arrested employee has been identified as Jatindra Nath Roy.
He was employed as the Upper Division Assistant (UDA) at the Hadurhat Dharmasala Higher Secondary School in the Dhubri district of Assam.
Roy was caught red-handed while allegedly accepting payment for the transfer of the complainant’s service sheet and LPC.
Informing the news on twitter, Special DGP Law and Order, GP Singh wrote, “Relentless campaign. Sri Jatindra Nath Roy, UDA of Hadurhat Dharmasala H.S. School, Dhubri district has been trapped and arrested red handed today by team of @DIR_VAC_ASSAM while accepting demanded money for transferring complainant’s service sheet and LPC.”
The anti-corruption unit and the Assam Police are maintaining a close monitoring to stop all forms of corruption in the state. Numerous state government officials have been exposed while collecting bribes in the past few months.
Moreover, the police have established a helpline at 1800-345-3767 where residents can report instances of bribery.
