Assam: Elephant calf rescued in Sonitpur

Rangapara, Sonitpur: A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in the serene landscapes of Sonitpur district as a one-year-old elephant calf found itself separated from its herd. Despite relentless efforts by forest officials, the young pachyderm remains lost and alone, its cries echoing through the dense forests.

The distressed calf was discovered in the Rangapara area and brought to the Amaribari Forest Range Office. Since then, it has been inconsolable, yearning for the comfort and protection of its mother.
