Assam: Excise Department Cracks Down on Illegal Liquor Trade in Rangapara
Rangapara, Sonitpur: In a significant operation against the illicit liquor trade, the Excise Department seized Arunachali liquor valued at approximately Rs 82,000 in Rangapara.
Acting on credible intelligence, a team led by Inspector Madhurya Talukdar and Sub-Inspector Jayanta Choudhury conducted a raid in Urhilaga village. During the operation, the authorities successfully confiscated the contraband liquor.
While the raid yielded substantial results, no arrests were made. However, the Excise Department has vowed to intensify its crackdown on the illegal liquor trade in the region. Despite ongoing efforts, reports indicate that some individuals continue to operate clandestinely, selling Arunachali liquor.
The department has reiterated its commitment to curbing this illicit activity and has pledged to implement stricter measures to prevent the sale and distribution of illegal liquor in Rangapara.
