Assam: Exotic Langur Killed in Kaziranga After Being Hit by Speeding Vehicle

Guwahati, 16th December: An exotic capped langur was tragically killed after being hit by a speeding vehicle near the Animal Corridor of Kaziranga National Park in Assam.

The unidentified vehicle fled the scene after the incident.

 The langur’s body was recovered by an interceptor vehicle of the Nagaon District Transport Department and handed over to the Burapahar Forest Officers.

 The malfunctioning sensor-based vehicle speed regulatory system has been a concern, leading to the death of several animals due to speeding vehicles in the Kaziranga area.
