Guwahati: Assam is gearing up for a major industrial transformation with the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 initiative, as the state sets its sights on becoming the industrial hub of the Eastern region.

Deputy Speaker of the Assam Assembly, Numal Momin, highlighted the state’s growing appeal to international investors, particularly in the semiconductor sector, which has positioned Assam as a key player in India’s industrial landscape.

Momin credited Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s relentless efforts in attracting global businesses, stating that the CM has been actively engaging with international investors to make the event a mega success. “After the start of semiconductors in Assam, the international business communities are eyeing towards us. Our CM is working very hard all day visiting many countries and requesting them to be part of this mega event Advantage Assam,” he said.

The initiative is expected to significantly boost investor confidence, creating new job opportunities and driving economic growth in the state. According to Momin, this industrial push will not only help resolve unemployment issues but also establish Assam as a crucial destination for business expansion in the Eastern region.

Adding further momentum to the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend Invest Assam, a move that is expected to amplify the global interest in the state’s economic potential. “The entire world community will definitely feel comfortable investing in Assam… We eagerly await PM Narendra Modi’s arrival,” Momin added.
