Assam: Family Members Allegedly Murder Blue Dart Employee in Dibrugarh
Guwahati, 22nd June: A shocking incident of murder has rocked Bakul Kath village on the outskirts of Dibrugarh city, where 22-year-old Hirakjyoti Dutta, employed at Blue Dart, was brutally killed on June 22.
Reports suggest that Hirak had been subjecting his parents to physical and mental torture over an extended period. In a tragic turn of events, his family members reportedly attacked him while he was asleep, resulting in fatal stab wounds inflicted with a sharp weapon.
The accused in this harrowing crime are Hirak’s own father, mother, and younger brother named Manoj Dutta, Pallavi Dutta, and Suman Dutta, respectively. They have since been apprehended by the Lahaul police, underscoring the gravity of the situation.
Local residents have been deeply affected by this tragic incident, which has stirred considerable shock and sadness in the community.
This disturbing case echoes previous instances of violence in the region, such as the 2014 murder of Forida Khatun in Beltari village under the Sapotgram police station in Dhubri district. Forida Khatun tragically lost her life in a similarly brutal manner, sparking outrage and legal repercussions in the community.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Hirakjyoti Dutta’s murder while ensuring justice for the victim and accountability for the accused.
