Assam: Family of Missing Teen from Baksa Appeals for Help as Search Intensifies

Guwahati, 19th May: The family of Gautam Das from Baksa is facing a harrowing ordeal as they seek answers to the sudden disappearance of their teenage son outside the state. Gautam went missing while traveling back home, and the family believes he vanished from Malda railway station.

Despite their relentless efforts, the family has been unable to locate Gautam, leaving them frustrated and desperate for any information about his whereabouts. They urge anyone with relevant information to contact them at 9957456875.

Recounting the events leading up to Gautam’s disappearance, a family member revealed, “The incident occurred early Friday morning, around 12:15 AM. Gautam called me multiple times, expressing distress over an incident on the train. He mentioned witnessing something unpleasant, which prompted him to leave the train without his belongings. Although he reassured me that it was minor and that his bag remained on the train, he failed to call back as promised. When contacted later at 7:30 AM, he mentioned being at the ticket counter, trying to resolve the situation.”

Despite their initial attempts, the family’s search for Gautam led them to the Railway Protection Force (RPF), who explained that the incident fell under their jurisdiction since it occurred in Malda. Undeterred, the family, comprising four members, traveled to Malda and shared Gautam’s details with the RPF. They also visited the local police station, where they met with the Sub-Inspector (SI) to seek further assistance in the investigation.
