Guwahati, 25th March: A tragic incident unfolded in Guwahati, Assam, on Sunday night, resulting in the untimely death of a woman. The unidentified woman was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the highway near Lalunggaon, in close proximity to Lokhra.
According to reports, the woman was in the process of crossing the street when the accident occurred. The impact inflicted fatal injuries, leading to her demise at the scene, tragically before medical assistance could be rendered.
The Gorchuk Police Station has initiated a case in connection with the incident. Police authorities have confirmed that investigations are currently underway to identify and locate the vehicle involved in the accident.
However, they have acknowledged the complexities surrounding fault determination in this case, citing the high-speed nature of highway traffic and emphasizing the importance of pedestrian caution when navigating such thoroughfares.
