Assam: Fatal Elephant Attack Claims Life of Man in Tengapani Reserve Forest
Guwahati, 3rd April: In a tragic incident highlighting the ongoing conflict between humans and elephants, a man fell victim to a wild elephant attack in the Tengapani Reserve Forests area under the jurisdiction of the Jagun regional forest department office.
The victim, identified as Bhadreshwar Bora, a 55-year-old resident of Tinku Pathar village in Jagun, met his demise while on a routine quest for wild vegetables in the evening. The tranquil pursuit took a deadly turn when he encountered the wild elephant.
Prompt response from the Jagun police and forest department personnel ensued, as they rushed to the scene of the attack, providing assistance and ensuring the area’s safety. Despite their efforts, Bora succumbed to his injuries.
The body of Bhadreshwar Bora has been transported for postmortem examination, as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the attack continue.
