Assam: Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident Rocks Garhkaptani Road in Nagaon

Guwahati, 4th May: A somber atmosphere enveloped Garhkaptani Road, the vital link between Nagaon and Botadrava, following a tragic hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of an unidentified man in front of a newly established oil petrol pump. The fatal collision occurred when a passenger, traveling in a tempo with registration number AS 02 D C 3941, was struck by an unidentified Tata DI car.

In a disturbing turn of events, both the driver of the tempo and the Tata vehicle fled the scene, leaving the victim behind. With the identity of the deceased still unknown, the severity of the situation is amplified.

Responding swiftly to the distressing scene, authorities from Batadrava arrived promptly to initiate an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Following standard procedure, the deceased was transported without delay to the Civil Hospital in Nagaon for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
