Guwahati, 27th July: A tragic road accident on National Highway 17 at Shingimari in Bongaigaon district has resulted in one fatality and left fifteen individuals seriously injured, with two in critical condition.
The collision occurred when a passenger bus, traveling from Bongaigaon to Goalpara (registration number AS19C 8169), was violently struck by a freight truck (registration number WB 41K 1123).
Emergency responders, including local authorities and volunteers, arrived swiftly at the scene. The injured were promptly transported to nearby hospitals for emergency medical care.
This incident has heightened concerns over road safety and the enforcement of traffic regulations on this heavily trafficked highway.
