Guwahati, 5th January: A tragic incident unfolded in Bhelagaon village, Nonoi, in Assam’s Nagaon district, as a man identified as Palon Saikia was mauled to death by a tiger. The attack occurred while Saikia was walking home early in the morning. Locals recovered his body, which exhibited injury marks, prompting concerns that the tiger might still be in the vicinity.
The matter has been reported to the local forest department, and the deceased’s body has been sent for post-mortem. The community remains on alert as authorities address the situation.
