Guwahati, 6th February: Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog made a significant announcement on February 6, stating that all loans owed by the state government will be repaid by 2025.
Addressing the Assam Legislative Assembly during the Budget Session, Neog confirmed that loans taken by the state government between 2001 and 2015 have already been cleared.
Currently, audits are underway for the remaining loan debt from 2023, which is expected to be paid off by the end of the year.
