Assam: Fire breaks out in a moving truck on highway at Tezpur’s Mission Chariali
Guwahati, 19th February: A fire incident occurred at Tezpur Mission Chariali when a moving truck carrying jute caught fire near the government residence of the Army’s fourth tax GOC, situated under the construction flyover.
Initial allegations point to the welding work being conducted on the flyover as the potential cause of the fire. Concerns have been raised regarding the frequent accidents at the construction site, particularly attributed to work on the dilapidated service road, which reportedly deviates from safety guidelines.
The construction site, particularly the service road, has been prone to recurring accidents, raising questions about adherence to safety protocols during flyover construction. Authorities are expected to launch an investigation into the incident to address safety concerns surrounding construction activities in the area.
