Guwahati, 18th May: A massive fire broke out at the Manas stone crushing quarry in Kenduguri of Assam’s Bajali resulting in significant destruction and property loss estimated at around Rs 15 lakh.
The fire is suspected to have originated from a gas cylinder which immediately spread, engulfing the entire office premises and a tractor, both of which were consumed by the flames.
Immediate response from fire brigade teams and Pathshala police helped contain the blaze and prevent further escalation.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported thus far, offering a small relief amid the chaos.
However, authorities are actively investigating the cause of the fire while assessing the full extent of the damage caused by the incident.
