Assam: Flood Situation Improves, Affecting Fewer People

Guwahati, 7th September: Promising news emerges from Assam as the flood situation shows marked improvement, with the number of affected individuals decreasing to 36,696, as per the latest bulletin released.

The daily flood report issued by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) highlights that no river is currently flowing above the highest flood level, contributing to the overall relief efforts.

Currently, only seven districts continue to be impacted by the floods, namely Darrang, Dhubri, Golaghat, Jorhat, Kamrup, Kamrup (M), and Nagaon. Furthermore, 11 revenue circles within these districts are still affected, affecting a total of 144 villages, as stated in the report.

In a reassuring update, there have been no reported deaths or missing persons in the last 24 hours, maintaining the death toll at 18.
