Assam floods: Over 36,000 people still remain affected
Guwahati: More than 36,000 people in Assam are still affected as a result of recent rainy periods, according to data from the state disaster management office released on Tuesday.
As many as eight districts in the state are still being affected by flooding. These are Bajali, Baksa, Chirang, Darrang, Dhemaji, Laakhimpur, Tamaulpur, and Udalguri, according to statistics from ASDMA.
A total of 91 villages under 12 revenue circles in Assam are still partially or completely devastated by the floods.
36,601 people are still impacted overall, according to ASDMA, while 4323.32 hectares of crop land are still underwater in the state.
Moreover, in an effort to provide shelter and relief supplies for the flood victims, 11 relief camps and 10 relief distribution centres are still operating throughout the state.
According to ASDMA figures, the recent flooding in these locations has put roughly 54,780 animals in danger.
