Assam: Forest Department Employee Arrested in Bongaigaon District on Corruption Charges

Guwahati, 19th March: In a significant development, authorities in Bongaigaon district have arrested Dusmant Das, an employee of the forest department.

The arrest was carried out by the Bongaigaon police based on a warrant issued under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Das was apprehended following a complaint filed under case no. 99/24 at Bongaigaon Sadar police station.

The allegations against Das involve extortion of money from various individuals through threats, as per complaints lodged by members of the public.

Das is accused of exploiting his position for personal gain, leading to his arrest and subsequent legal proceedings.

He is scheduled to appear before the Special Sessions Judge in Guwahati to face charges related to the alleged corrupt activities.
