Assam: Forest Department Executes Major Eviction Drive in Rangjuli

Guwahati, 10th September: The forest department conducted a significant eviction drive today in the Rangjuli forest, targeting approximately nine bighas of land that had been illegally converted into rubber gardens. This operation, led by the Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) of Goalpara and the Regional Forest Officer (RFO) of Rangjuli, was executed by the Khashibari Protection Reserve Force (PRF).

The primary focus of the eviction was to dismantle a large-scale rubber plantation operating unlawfully. This action is part of the forest department’s broader initiative to reclaim forest land and curb illegal activities within protected areas.

The Regional Forest Officer of Rangjuli stated that similar systematic eviction drives would continue to ensure the restoration and protection of forest resources. The department remains committed to safeguarding forest lands from encroachment and illegal use.
