Guwahati: Forest department recovered huge amounts of illegal timber from the Samaguri area of Assam on Saturday.
The forest department seizing a sizable amount of contraband wood from Gendheli in Samaguri.
As per reports, the raid was conducted in numerous locations based on some specific inputs.
The raids were carried out and the logs were taken by the forest workers under Udmari sub-block.
Reportedly, the smugglers buried the stolen timber in the dense forest before escaping.
However, the forest department has started an investigation following the incident.
