Assam: Forest Official Injured In An Elephant Attack In Nagaon  

Guwahati, 24th March: A herd of wild elephants attacked a village in Assam’s Nagon causing massive destruction on March 24.

The incident occurred Kachuwa village under Kathiatoli Tehsil.

A forest officer from Pahartoli sub forest division identified as Siraj Ali was injured severely during the elephant attack.

As per sources, Ali sustained serious injuries while attempting to chase away the elephants.

The incident caused massive damage including the demolition of a house and destruction of a betel nut garden.

The elephants, whose herd is still located in the Sankhola area caused chaos in the region.

Following the attack, Siraj Ali has been transferred to Nagaon for better medical treatment due to the severity of his injuries.

This incident underscores the persistent issue of human-wildlife conflict in the region, posing risks to both local residents and forest officials.
