Guwahati: A former All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) leader has died in a fire incident in the Dibrugarh district of Assam on Wednesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Jitu Das who is a resident of Moranhat town of the district.
According to reports, the incident occurred at his residence.
However, the body of Jitu Das was recovered after fire tenders arrived and extinguished the fire.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
It may be mentioned that AASU and other organizations mourned the sudden demise of the former student leader.
