Assam: Former BJP Leader Rajkumar Brahma Joins Bodoland People’s Front (BPF)

Guwahati, 14th November: Rajkumar Brahma, former president of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Kokrajhar district and current executive member, officially joined the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF).

In a ceremony attended by BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary, Brahma and four other BJP members, namely Biplab Debnath, Bijoy Kumar Saha, Naboranjan Barman, and Chandan Tarpadar, made the switch.

Brahma cited concerns about the BJP’s organizational state in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and claimed to face lobbying against him within the party.

He expressed disappointment over the decision to end his term prematurely, emphasizing the lack of order and ethics in the BTR’s BJP organization.

Hagrama Mohilary addressed the media, stating that more BJP and UPPL members are considering joining the BPF.

He asserted that the BPF intends to contest the elections independently, with no official communication received from other parties for an alliance.

Mohilary emphasized the BPF’s growing position and outlined their plan to contest in two Lok Sabha constituencies, with a meeting scheduled on November 30 for further discussions.
