Assam: Fraudster Held for Duping Job Aspirants, 4 Others Absconding
Guwahati: A frauster has been arrested by Assam Police for allegedly duping candidates in the pretext of providing them jobs.
The arrested fraud has been identified as Ranjan Bhuyan, a resident of Tezpur in Sonitpur district.
According to reports, Bhuyan has been arrested from Mariani in Jorhat district of Assam.
Bhuyan reportedly requested payment from applicants in exchange for posts in the military.
He belonged to a sizable organisation of con artists who allegedly have been defrauding young people for a very long time by promising those jobs.
Reportedly, the con artists camped out at the Loknath Vivah Bhawan in Jorhat. They specifically targeted applicants who had arrived to the MES army camp for an interview.
Four further suspects are presently missing. The police are currently conducting an investigation to find the other offenders.
