Guwahati: A huge consignment of illicit ganja has been from a train at Guwahati Railway Station on Wednesday.
According to information, the ganja was seized from from Vivek Express train by Guwahati Railway Police (GRP).
As per reports, around 40 kg ganjas have been sezied from the train that had arrived from Dimapur today morning.
Reportedly, the ganja was recovered packed in two bags and was found unattended in the train.
However, no arrests have been made in connection to the seizure.
“Efforts are on to trace the accused person involved in smuggling the ganja consignment,” a police official said.
The estimated cost of the seized ganja is said to be 20 lakhs.
It is learned that the ganja were being smuggled to Kanyakumari from Dimapur, however, it was seized at Guwahati by alert security forces.
