Guwahati: Dr. Anindita Patowary, a dedicated demonstrator in the Microbiology Department at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), tragically passed away on November 9 after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was 32 years old.
Dr. Patowary had been undergoing treatment at Health City Hospital in Guwahati for the past ten months. Despite her ongoing fight, she remained resilient, earning admiration from both her colleagues and patients. Her passing has deeply affected the medical community, marking a poignant loss for those who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Bhargav Kalita, and their one-year-old son. Tragically, her death coincided with the first birthday of her child, adding to the heartbreak of her family.
Known for her academic excellence, Dr. Patowary was also a passionate musician and skilled in Sattriya dance, making her a well-rounded and cherished figure among her peers. Her loss is mourned not only for her professional contributions but also for the vibrant life she led.
