Assam: Gauripur Police Nab Thief, Recover Stolen Goods

Guwahati: Gauripur Police have made a significant breakthrough, apprehending a thief and recovering a substantial amount of stolen property. The successful operation, spearheaded by Officer-in-Charge Chiranjib Lahan, underscores the force’s dedication to upholding law and order in the region.

The individual, identified as Rubul Hoque, son of Moinal Hoque and a resident of Geramari Part I, was taken into custody after a meticulously planned intelligence-based operation. Police teams navigated several operational hurdles, including discreet surveillance and precise tactical coordination, ensuring a safe and effective arrest.

Following Hoque’s apprehension, authorities recovered a variety of stolen items, believed to be connected to multiple theft cases reported across the area. The recovered goods include two KOEL Company electronic motor pumps, one metal “Gamla” (pot), a Samrat Company plastic table, a green-coloured JUVAS Company fan, a brown-coloured SEC Company fan, a stand fan, a gas cylinder, and several bicycles.

All these items were found in the suspect’s possession and were promptly transported to Gauripur Police Station. There, they were handed over to the Malkhana In-Charge (MIC) for official documentation and secure storage, with all procedural protocols meticulously followed to maintain the integrity of the evidence.

Rubul Hoque remains in police custody, and further investigations are actively ongoing. Authorities are currently probing the precise origin of the recovered stolen goods and looking into the potential involvement of any other individuals in these criminal activities.
