Assam: Gazetted Officers Implicated in APSC Recruitment Scam Summoned for Questioning by CID

Guwahati, 26th December: Two gazetted officers, Priyanka Deka and Jayanta Doley, implicated in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) recruitment scam, reported to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Assam Police in Guwahati for questioning. Summoned by the special investigation team (SIT) probing the scam, both officials are alleged to have secured their recruitment through unfair means, with reports suggesting manipulated scores in various subjects.

Doley’s alleged score manipulation in English, General Science, and History papers, despite failing his mains exam, led to his appointment as superintendent of taxes. Similarly, Deka’s marks in Law and Social Sciences papers were reportedly mysteriously upgraded. As the SIT delves into the details, the officials are expected to face intense questioning in an effort to resolve the longstanding APSC recruitment scam.

The SIT has also summoned two additional gazetted officers for questioning in connection with the APSC scam, as investigations into the fraudulent recruitment practices continue.
