Assam Gears Up for High-Profile Visit, New Police Academy Inauguration Imminent

Guwahati: Assam’s administrative machinery is in full swing, meticulously orchestrating the arrival of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has personally overseen crucial preparatory meetings, underscoring the significance of the upcoming visit.

The focus of these discussions centered on guaranteeing seamless logistical operations and a flawless execution of the scheduled events.

The highlight of Shah’s itinerary is the inauguration of the extensively modernized Lachit Barphukan Police Academy, located in Dergaon, Jorhat district. This revamped institution stands as a testament to the state’s commitment to enhancing law enforcement infrastructure and training. The Chief Minister’s Office, through an official post on the social media platform X, confirmed the details of the preparatory sessions, emphasizing the collaborative efforts undertaken to ensure a successful visit.

The Union Home Minister’s arrival is slated for March 14th, with the formal inauguration ceremony of the police academy taking place the following day. Notably, Shah’s schedule includes a concurrent engagement in Mizoram on March 15th, followed by a return to Assam on the same evening. The concluding segment of his visit will involve a crucial meeting within the Bodoland Territorial Region on March 16th, marking the culmination of his engagements in the state.
