Assam: Geologist From Uttar Pradesh working for OIL goes missing in Duliajan

Guwahati, 8th January: The sudden vanishing act of 23-year-old geologist Ritesh Kumar, who recently joined Oil India Limited (OIL) in Duliajan after arriving from Uttar Pradesh, is causing significant concern in the oil town.

Ritesh, a resident of Vikas Nagar in Uttar Pradesh’s Chitrakoot district, commenced his role at OIL on a contract basis under the private firm M/s ANI from Mumbai on January 5.

After moving into a rented residence near Kamalabari Namghar with two colleagues, Ritesh went missing on January 7.

He informed a colleague about being followed, and later, his mobile was traced near Duliajan railway station.

Despite CCTV footage and family members suggesting he might have boarded a train, the circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unclear.

Authorities are actively investigating the incident, with updates expected in the coming days.
