Assam: Goat and Battery Thieves Caught Red-Handed in Rangia, 3 held
Guwahati: Rangia has become a hotspot for criminal activities, with goat thieves and battery thieves operating in the area. Recently, two separate incidents of theft were foiled by the public, leading to the capture of three thieves.
In one incident, a goat thief named Ali was caught by the public while attempting to steal a black goat in Rangia. The thief was interrogated by the locals before being handed over to the authorities.
In another incident, two thieves identified as Golap Husein and Jeherul Islam from Barpeta district, were caught by the police while trying to sell four stolen car batteries in Rangia. The batteries had been stolen from near Dimakuchi in Nagrijuli, and the thieves had used a Swift vehicle to transport the stolen goods.
All three thieves are currently in the custody of the Rangia police, who are investigating the incidents and working to determine the extent of the thieves’ involvement in other crimes. The public’s vigilance and cooperation with the police have been instrumental in foiling these thefts and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
The recent surge in criminal activities in Rangia has raised concerns among residents, who are demanding increased police presence and action to prevent further crimes. The authorities are working to address these concerns and restore peace in the area.
