Assam: Gossaigaon Police Bust Major Drug Syndicate, Nab Two Kingpins

Guwahati: In a significant crackdown on narcotics trafficking, the Gossaigaon Police have successfully apprehended two individuals, Hasan Ali and Samsul, identified as the alleged masterminds orchestrating a widespread drug network within the region.

The initial operation unfolded on Sunday evening at approximately 7 PM in Habrubil, culminating in the arrest of Samsul, a figure already notorious within the local drug scene. Subsequent interrogation of Samsul yielded crucial information that led law enforcement to conduct a follow-up raid in Babubil village, where they successfully captured Hasan Ali, another key player in the illicit operation.

The coordinated police action resulted in the seizure of a substantial quantity of illegal drugs. Additionally, authorities confiscated a Honda scooter bearing the registration number AS-16-K-4861 and a CB Jet motorcycle with registration number AS-16-D-0890, both believed to have been instrumental in the duo’s drug peddling activities.

For a considerable period, local inhabitants and worried community members have voiced accusations against Samsul and Hasan Ali, alleging their involvement in enticing young individuals into drug dependency and causing widespread devastation within the community. Eyewitness accounts indicate that Samsul routinely received numerous telephone calls during the evening hours from drug users, with some instances captured on video showing individuals desperately seeking confirmation on the availability of narcotics.

Following their apprehension, the Gossaigaon Police have formally registered a case against both Hasan Ali and Samsul. The accused have since been presented before the court to face legal proceedings.
