Assam Government Aims to Provide Jobs to 1,35,000 Youths, Says Minister Pijush Hazarkia

Guwahati, 25th November: Assam Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarkia, during a joining ceremony and kāryakartā sanmelan in Rangia LAC, emphasized the commitment of the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government to generate employment opportunities for the youth. Hazarkia announced that the government had already provided jobs to 87,000 youths in the last 2.5 years and pledged to create additional employment for another 48,000 youths in the next 2.5 years.

He recalled Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s initial promise to offer jobs to one lakh youths and highlighted the government’s dedication to surpassing expectations by aiming to provide jobs to 1,35,000 youths.

Critiquing the previous government, Hazarkia criticized the Congress party for fostering a corrupt environment where job seekers had to pay bribes for employment. In contrast, he affirmed that the BJP government had eradicated corruption from the job application process, ensuring a fair and transparent system.

Hazarkia also highlighted the transformation of the Orunodoi scheme into the Orunodoi Parivar, with phased financial increments. The Arunodaya scheme now benefits 27 lakh families, and the financial assistance is set to increase from Rs 1,250 to Rs 1,450 soon, fulfilling a key promise of the government.
