Assam Government Allocates Rs 31.72 Crore for Air Travel Expenses; Suspends Helicopter Services
Guwahati, 27th August: The Home Department on August 27 disclosed that the Assam government has sanctioned Rs 31.72 crore for air travel expenses during the fiscal year 2023-24. This allocation includes Rs 26.65 crore for helicopter services and Rs 5.07 crore for chartered planes. The announcement came in response to a query from Congress MLA Sibamoni Bora during the ongoing Autumn Session of the Assam Legislative Assembly.
Additionally, the Home Department revealed a suspension of helicopter services, which had been operated under the Assam Tourism Development Corporation. “Helicopter services have been curtailed until further orders,” the department stated, signaling a temporary halt in these operations.
