Guwahati, 3rd March: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma unveiled financial assistance schemes on March 3 to support widows in the state who are not covered by the Orunodoi scheme.

In a bid to enhance the well-being of widows, CM Sarma announced a top-up of Rs 950 per month per beneficiary under the Indira Gandhi National Widow Scheme.

This additional aid aims to offer support to widows who do not qualify for the Orunodoi scheme, which is tailored to address specific needs within the state.
