Assam Government Denies Overnight Stay Permission for Congress Leaders Amidst Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

Guwahati, 11th January: The Assam government reportedly denies the Congress party permission for its leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, to stay overnight on public grounds in two districts as part of the upcoming ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.’ Opposition leader Debabrata Saikia shared this information, mentioning that the party is now considering private farmlands as alternative locations for overnight stays.

Initially granted permission to use a school ground at Gogamukh in Dhemaji district, the permission was later revoked, according to Saikia. The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, commencing on January 14 from Manipur, aims to cover 6,713 kilometers over 66 days.

The journey’s primary focus is advocating for economic, social, and political justice for the people of India, addressing disparities and promoting unity and equality in line with the Constitution and the Directive Principles of State Policy.
