Assam Government Grade 4 Recruitment Exams to be Held Amidst Tight Security and Internet Suspension
Guwahati: The Assam government is set to conduct written examinations for various grade 4 posts on Sunday, with elaborate arrangements in place to ensure the tests are conducted fairly and transparently.
A total of 827,130 candidates are eligible to appear for the recruitment examination for Higher Secondary Leaving Certificate (HSLC) level posts, which will be held in the first shift from 9 am to 11:30 am at 1,484 centers .
Additionally, 552,002 candidates have applied to appear for the examination for Class 8 level posts, scheduled for the second shift from 1:30 pm to 4 pm at 808 centers.
To prevent any disruptions, mobile internet services will be suspended across the state from 8:30 am to 4 pm, marking the third such instance in two months.
This suspension aims to maintain public safety and prevent law and order issues. However, voice calls and broadband connectivity via fixed telephone lines will remain functional during this period .
Stringent security arrangements have been put in place at all examination centers, including frisking and checking of candidates.
The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will operate five pairs of examination special trains to facilitate the movement of candidates. These trains will run for one trip each in both directions.
The recruitment exams are being held for 5,023 posts, including 2,102 posts for Class 8 level. This recruitment drive follows the written tests for grade 3 posts under the State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC), which were conducted on September 15 and 29, with mobile internet services suspended on those days as well . Overall, 18.50 lakh candidates have applied for grade III posts, and 13.70 lakh for grade IV posts.
