Assam Government Retains Existing Pattern for Direct Recruitment Examination
Guwahati, July 13, 2024: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that the state government will maintain the current pattern for the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE). This decision was made in response to feedback from aspirants and the public, who voiced concerns about potential changes to the exam structure.
Chief Minister Sarma confirmed on Twitter that the ADRE exam pattern will remain consistent with last year’s format, which includes a written exam followed by a viva voce. This announcement signifies a reversal of the government’s earlier consideration to adopt an Assam Public Service Commission (APSC)-like syllabus for third and fourth-grade jobs.
The clarification comes after a period of extensive debate and uncertainty among job seekers in Assam. On July 12, while travelling from Rongjuli in Goalpara to Guwahati, Sarma addressed the issue, emphasizing that the government’s aim was to enhance the recruitment process without modifying the standard of exams.
The decision to retain the existing exam pattern aims to alleviate concerns and ensure a smooth recruitment process for aspiring candidates in the state.
