Assam Government Surpasses Job Creation Commitment, Aims for 1,70,000 Appointments
Guwahati, October 7, 2024 – In a significant announcement, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed that the state government is poised to exceed its commitment to creating government jobs for the youth. Speaking during an event where appointment letters were distributed to 385 newly recruited faculty members from the Education and Health & Family Welfare Departments, Sarma outlined the government’s remarkable progress in fulfilling its employment promises.
“Our government has already crossed a milestone of offering over 1,25,000 appointments to young aspirants. In addition, the recruitment process for around 40,000 more posts is currently underway,” Sarma stated, highlighting the rapid pace of job creation under his administration. He reflected on his electoral promise to provide 1 lakh government job opportunities, emphasizing that the government is set to exceed this target significantly. “By the end of our five-year term, I am confident that the total number of appointments will reach a remarkable 1,70,000,” Sarma remarked.
The Chief Minister underscored that such a large-scale recruitment drive is unprecedented in Assam’s history. “We are continuously progressing to ensure that Assam’s youth have access to government employment,” he added, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to job creation.
Sarma’s announcements come at a time when the government is under pressure to address the aspirations of the state’s youth, who have been advocating for more employment opportunities. With ongoing recruitment efforts and a clear vision for the future, the Assam government aims to build a more promising economic landscape for its young population.
