Assam Government to Host Mega Career Counselling Programme under CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s Leadership

Guwahati, 2nd February: In a proactive move towards youth empowerment, the Assam government, led by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, is set to host a Mega Career Counselling Programme. Scheduled for February 2, the event, organized by the Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship Department, aims to guide individuals in choosing their career paths and navigating employment opportunities and skill development.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma took to the official CMO X handle, stating, “The Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship Dept is organising a Mega Career Counselling Programme cum Career Fair on 2nd February to create awareness on the various Career options available to young students.”

The primary objective of the career counselling programme is to raise awareness about diverse career options in the current and future job markets. It intends to assist individuals in making informed decisions about their careers from the school level, strategically planning goals, and gaining exposure to opportunities in self-employment, business, and entrepreneurship.

Organized by the Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training, Assam, this initiative underscores the government’s dedication to nurturing a skilled workforce capable of meeting industry demands and contributing to the state’s economic growth.
