Assam Government To Launch CM Fellowship Program for MBA Graduates

Guwahati, 9th December: In a forward-thinking initiative aimed at bridging academic expertise with governance, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, leading the Assam government has unveiled a Fellowship Program tailored for MBA graduates.

This unique program seeks to engage selected MBA graduates in collaboration with the Government of Assam, particularly in rural areas, where their skills can contribute to the implementation of government initiatives.

The Chief Minister’s Young Professional Programme, a partnership between IIM Bangalore and the Assam government, will elevate public policy and management by awarding participants a Certificate in Public Policy and Management upon successful completion of the two-year program. This move underscores the government’s commitment to nurturing talent and providing practical experience to young professionals.

Moreover, the Assam government has actively supported students through various scholarships and financial assistance schemes. The Assam Abhinandan Education Loan Subsidy Scheme offers a one-time grant of INR 50,000 to ease the financial burden on students repaying education loans. The “Assam Bikash Yojana Scheme” extends Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships to meritorious BPL students, highlighting the state’s dedication to fostering its youth.

Aspiring scholars in Assam can conveniently apply for scholarships online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) or the Means cum Merit Scholarship Portal of the Department of Higher Education, Assam. These platforms streamline the application process, ensuring accessibility and efficiency for eligible candidates.

The Directorate of Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare, Government of Assam, also champions Financial Assistance for Higher Studies, specifically targeting students from the Tea Tribes community pursuing technical or higher education. This scheme extends support for courses ranging from MBBS to MBA, with varying financial assistance based on the level and field of study.

As of December 9th, 2023, these programs and initiatives are likely already operational or in advanced stages of implementation, illustrating the Assam government’s commitment to investing in the future of its youth and the overall progress of the state.
